Stainless Steel Utility Cart
Sometimes a hand truck is not quite what you need. Sometimes you need a rolling cart with built in
storage. A stainless steel utility cart can serve countless different functions in homes, offices, classrooms,
labs, and just about anyplace else. How about a heavy duty utility cart in a machine shop. You can find utility
carts made of stainless steel, plastic and even wire. Tool service carts come in several different styles. Some
have added storage for large tools while others have expanded work surfaces.
First thing to determine is what will you be using the cart for. What types of items is it going to
carry? How much storage will you need? A quality steel cart will feature smooth welds, a durable finish, and
ergonomic, well positioned handles. It will also have good casters or wheels that allow easy movement even when
carrying heavy items and that have a locking function to keep the cart stationary if need be.
The most basic utility carts will have two shelves, an upper and a lower shelf.
The surface of the shelves is often recessed so that items don't roll off of them when you move the cart. You can
also find stainless steel utility carts with drawers under a flat top shelf for added storage. Carts with drawers
make excellent mobile kitchen workstations since you can store a variety of utensils in the drawer and have extra
counter space on top.
