Collapsible Hand Truck
A collapsible hand truck is just another term for a folding hand truck or folding hand cart. The benefit of a collapsible design is that when you are
not using the hand truck it can be conveniently stored just about anywhere. Most are not quite heavy duty since
most industrial applications don't put a high value on space saving storage. Probably the most likely
applications for a collapsible hand cart would be to tote luggage, file storage boxes and other medium-sized
items.
These cargo haulers have capacities that generally fall between 200 lbs. and 500 lbs. Most are
lightweight aluminum and can convert from folded to open position without much effort. Unlike convertible hand
trucks that are geared towards heavier loads, collapsible hand trucks have solid casters instead
of tires. Lighter duty hand carts are not designed to carry heavier loads up stairs since they lack the stair
climbing attachment on the rear of the frame.
Here is a good example photo of a folded up hand cart:

Magliner Folding Hand Truck
Once you see the name Magliner you know that you're dealing with a commercial grade product.
Although it is lightweight, Magliner makes folding hand trucks that handle loads up to 500 lbs. It
doesn't fold down to quite the compact size of a collapsible hand truck but both the handle and noseplate (or
bottom support piece) both fold and lock against the frame. You'll see these hand trucks folded and attached to
the rear of delivery trucks. To go from folded stowed position to open just push the release bars to unlock both
the handle and noseplate.
Magna Folding Hand Truck
The Magna Cart folding hand truck is simple to use for home, office, or
travel. The telescoping frame folds down easily by squeezing the handle. Overall the unit is a bit more than 2"
thick when folded. It stores easily in the trunk of your car or in the overhead compartment on the airplane so
its great for luggage. The Magna Cart MCX is an all-around efficient hand truck.
Even though it only weighs just 7 lbs. it boasts a load capacity of 150 lbs.
